Short treks in Nepal


Kathmandu Valley: The road network from Kathmandu extends to the east to Nagarkot (30km), Changunarayan (20 km). Dhulikhel (35km) and to Jiri (188 km). To the north the road goes to Budhanilkantha (10 km) and Sundarijal (20 km). To the west the edge of the valley stops at Kakani (20 km) and in the south at Tikabhairav (20 km). Using these network of paved road short trek around the rim of the valley can be covered. It can always starts and end at any of the above points. Annapurna Foothill, Kathmandu Valley, Jomsom and Helambu areas has some of the best short hikes suitable for all age group and physical fitness. Gaurishankar area near Jiri is another prime location for short trek. These places has many interesting cultures and beautiful mountain-view in the middle of nature. There are Buddhist monasteries, oak and rhodendron forests in almost in all the above areas. Walk in the hills of these places are easy.
